PLEASE DON'T FORGET to mention 1) Which item # you want and 2) That you want it from ASI #67165 or UPIC/Level. Sit back and let them handle your needs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) SAMPLES POLICY: Samples are sent on a prepaid basis, unless you and your supplier have already worked out an arrangement in regards to samples. However, note that if samples are returned and/or an order is placed the value of the sample (less shipping charges) will be credited towards the order. Sorry, due to the large volume of sample requests no exceptions can be made to this policy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) What format can the clients send the art in? Artwork can be sent in either hard copy (laser printer quality or better, no faxes) or in digital format (e-mailed or by disk). Digital Format: We have PC computers, but might be able to read some MAC files. We always prefer PC formatted files. It is always a good idea to send a hardcopy of the art so that we can make sure that the computer has not altered the art. ACCEPTABLE FORMATS: The format of the E-mailed or digital media must be in the following types: ·
Other less popular formats are:
PLEASE USE PROGRAMS THAT SAVE IN THESE FORMATS ONLY. DO NOT "FORCE FORMAT" YOUR FILES (I.E., JUST CHANGE THE 2 OR 3 DIGIT TAG FOLLOWING THE FILE NAME). DIGITAL MEDIA FORMATS ACCEPTED: We accept PC or Compatible standard 3 ½" floppy disks, CD-ROM and ZIP DISKS. Include the file name and specific instructions as to location of the artwork on the digital media. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) What is camera ready art? Camera ready art is any art that does not require any changes on our behalf. It can be in digital format or hard copy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) What is the standard production time? For normal one color imprinting it takes from 7 to 10 working days. Normal engraving time is also 7 to 10 working days. It could take longer if the printer is busy always consider if it is near Christmas. Note that the quantity being printed could also affect the production time (less items = less time needed). At times a partial shipment option is available, however you are still responsible for all shipping charges. Production time starts from the time we have received the purchase order, deposit, artwork and paper proof (if any) or spec or pre-production sample (if any requested) approval from the client. It does not include holidays. ABOVE TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO ITEMS BEING IN STOCK AND DOES NOT INCLUDE SHIPPING TIME TO AND FROM THE FACTORY. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) What is the shipping point? And other shipping questions. All items are shipped from Los Angeles, CA (FOB point). All orders will be shipped via UPS ground unless otherwise requested by you. Factory has capabilities to ship via UPS (air or ground), Fedex (air or ground) and various common carriers for large orders. No US Mail parcel post shipment requests will be accepted. All special instructions for shipping and/or labeling must be provided in writing at the time order is placed. Freight charges are estimated for ground shipments to be about 5% to 10% of total cost of order. Depends on weight and distance from Los Angeles, California. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7) Can we imprint a second color? The answer depends on A) What is the artwork that you want imprinted and B) what is the item you wish to order. A. The artwork must NOT have a "tight registration" that is the space between the two colors must be enough so that the printer can have some room to move. For example the letters "A B C" in this format each letter can be a separate color, because it is a loose registration (spacing between the letters). However, The letters "" have tight registration (tight or almost no space between the letters) and therefore require a lot of time to imprint in two colors. Note that some art cannot even be imprint at all. THE PRINTER MUST APPROVE ARTWORK BEFORE AN ORDER IS ACCEPTED. B) The item must also be easy to imprint. For example item T122 has a large flat surface therefore it is easy for the printer to do two colors. However, the M505G has a very curvaceous Marking Area and is therefore very hard to imprint even one color and therefore impossible to print two. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8) What is the price for a second color imprint? Assuming that the registration is NOT tight then you have to add the following prices range (see Question 2 above). An exact price is hard to give until Printer sees the art. As a rule of thumb the following estimates are provided: 50-99 100-249 250-499 500-1000 $.58-.67 .58-.67 .50-.58 .50-58 (4R) Note that these prices are just estimates and depends on the product and art. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9) Privacy policy and "Cookies": For the full Privacy and Cookie Policy please visit our privacy policy page. But, in a nutshell you should note that we will NOT sell or share your e-mail address to any third party. We will also not contact you. Your e-mail address is used only to create a File Cabinet or Folder. These folders are saved in your hard drive (see cookies below) for 90 days and then discarded. With a creation of a file cabinet or folder a cookie will be placed -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10) What is my price if I want to engrave an item instead of imprinting it? Make sure that the item is metallic. Then makes sure to see if an item will need to be oxidized in order for the engraving to show. For example item 127BP Orbit ballpen can be engraved but engraved art does not show up clearly (light gold on satin silver). Therefore we have to oxidize the engraving so that it comes out a dark gray (see below for what oxidization is). Add the following prices to your price quote for engraving (ONLY): 50-99 100-249 250-499 500-1000 $.64 .50 .50 .42 (4R) FOR OXIDIZATION ADD AN ADDITIONAL: $.42 (r) PER UNIT IRRESPECTIVE OF ANY QUANTITY. THIS ALSO ADDS TO THE DELIVERY DAYS. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11) If I laser engrave an item what color will the lasered portion show up? This depends on the item. When you laser you remove the coloring or first layer of paint/lacquer/etc… Therefore whatever the prepainted color is will show up. For about 95% of our pens that color is the gold of the brass base. Some of our items are Aluminum and therefore show up in a pearl white/silver (i.e. Crescent ballpens in black). See question 10 and 11 for further explanation about changing the color of the engraved art. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 12) What is oxidization? The oxidization process basically give a dark gray coloring to an engraved product this is useful in items that will not show the engraved color (usually gold) well after the engraving. Oxidization basically ages the engraved area. It is done one by one and it is a slow process. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 13) Are other colors available when engraving? An engraved items art can be turned into another color at an additional charge of $.58 (r) per unit irrespective of quantity (50 or 10,000). Always check with supplier to make sure the price has remained the same. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 14) If I don't want imprinting or engraving what is the price? This is simple. Just go to the next column up that has a lower price. For example, if you want to buy 150 items without and imprint go to the column for 250-499 to get the price. If the price for 250-499 is the same as 100-249 then go to the next column that has a lower price. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 15) Set up Charges: First time and redo? First time: $45/w. Set up charge is actually a group of charges. It includes film, screen, jig, cleanup and etc… costs. The REDO OF OLD JOB (LESS THAN A YEAR) setup charge is $30/w. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 16) Rush charges: $59/w How fast a job is done is also related to how many pieces need to be imprinted. FOR IMPRINTING the flat fee will get your customers order shipped in by 3 to 5 days. Always follow up with the printer to make sure they get the order done. FOR ENGRAVING the fee will assure that they get the order in 3 to 4 days. If the order requires Oxidization (see below) you might need more time. Check w/printer. The above production schedules are only estimates. Always confirm with your Supplier what the actual production time will be. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17) What is a PMS color? What is PMS color match? How much is it? PMS is a color chart that standardizes all colors. Since exact color matching takes time our printer charges us extra to do such a color match. The charge for PMS color match is $20/w. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18) Running charge? None Run charge is what some companies charge every time they do an order in addition to setup and item charges. Our prices include a running charge, but do not include a set up charge. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19) Paper Proof charge? Regular paper proof has no charge. This is a simple picture of the art at the actual size that it will be imprinted, placed in roughly the same location that it would be printed on the product. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20) Spec Sample charge? $59/w A spec sample is a sample provided before an order is received. This is requested by clients to get an order. The charge is $59/w plus the cost of the item at the 50 unit column price. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21) Pre-production sample Charge? $59/w This is a sample done prior to the start of full production on an order. The charge is $59.00/w. It does include the cost of the product being imprinted. HOWEVER, It also reduces the set up charge from the normal of $45/w to $27.00/w. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22) Can you buy less than 50 units with imprint? Yes, you can buy less than 50 units but there will be an additional $30/w surcharge to the set up. The unit charge will be for 50 units. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23) Can you buy more than 1000 units? Yes, please contact your supplier for best pricing and item availability. A great many of the orders handled by the factory are much larger than 1000 units, however limitation on space prevent the publication of such pricing and lead time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 24) CUSTOMER PAYMENT POLICY: All terms are 50% prepaid with order (Check or credit card). The remainder of the order will be billed to their credit card at the time the order is shipped. Note that your payment policy maybe different if you are already dealing with a promotional distributor. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 25) Can the factory make the artwork? Yes, we can make simple typesetting artwork for client. It has to use the font styles that already exist in Microsoft Word 2000. No charges apply. Otherwise the client must provide us with camera ready artwork. If they want for us to make the art or add or subtract from the art then there will be additional charges based on what needs to be done. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 26) What about printing the same logo on another item? The set up charge is the same as if it was a new order. When an item is changed the size of the imprinting changes. Also other charges are involved so it is considered a whole new order. Therefore a new setup charge applies. $45/w. |
